The entire West is Burning with fever regarding Donald Trump’s peace plan for Ukraine, what leaks from insiders for weeks.
The latest leak was published in the Daily Mail, in which the military forces of the United Kingdom (NATO) would have a role, and the EU would finance post-war reconstruction out of goodwill.
In public perception, the Ukrainian-Russian conflict began in February 2022, but it actually started in 2014 when President Poroshenko launched a military attack on the civilian population in Eastern Ukraine, specifically in Donbas, who did not accept the Nazi coup.
The goal of the military attack was to gain internal, civilian legitimacy necessary for extending the coup government’s power over the Donbas region. This was in response to the Crimean and Donbas populations establishing sovereign republics in accordance with Articles 1(2) and 55(1) of the UN Charter.
Thus, there was an open military intervention by the Ukrainian state, supported by the West, against the sovereign Russian republics of Donbas and Crimea, into which Russia intervened in February 2022 after eight years of bloodshed.
Citing that the West „does not recognize” the republics—which is irrelevant under applicable law—the USA and the EU supported the Ukrainian Nazi intervention with billions of dollars and massive arms shipments. They did this in the hope that in the ensuing proxy war, the intervening Russian military contingent could be defeated, thereby causing economic and political damage to Russia, while also keeping the Donbas’ raw material deposits under Western control.
However, not only was the Russian military are not defeated, but it has caused significant material and human losses, advancing at a balanced pace westward, gaining control over an increasing number of territories disputed by the West.
Realizing this—slowly and with difficulty—the West began seeking ways to end the fighting, while also being outmatched by Russia both financially and in terms of military supplies. In this context, Donald Trump stated that, if elected, he would immediately end the conflict, later revising this deadline to 100 days. Various leaks related to this continue to surface daily.
The leak discussed here in the Daily Mail is presumably not from Trump’s circle, given that the Russian side has already communicated its ideas about peace to all parties through all channels, which was recently confirmed by Foreign Affairs Spokesman Peskov to the press:
„Zelensky has no right to participate in peace negotiations because Moscow insists that for any agreements on resolving the conflict (i.e., capitulation) to be legally binding.
The Ukrainian president must be legitimized through elections, as he currently holds his position unlawfully. Moreover, there is currently a legal ban in Ukraine on negotiations with Russia.
At present, we believe that the Ukrainian president has no right to engage in such negotiations. As long as this decree remains in effect, it would be premature to discuss the possible composition of the participants.”
According to earlier statements from Moscow, it does not wish to see an EU representative at the negotiating table either, as they do not represent a unified bloc. (Two EU memnbers, Hungary and Slovakia oppose both the proxy war and anti-Russian sanctions)
The situation is further complicated and exacerbated by the publics report from the Russian foreign intelligence service, which states:
The leadership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) wants to keep Ukraine as an „anti-Russia base.” To this end, NATO aims to freeze the conflict.
According to its plans, the conflict should be „frozen” in such a way that NATO brings the warring parties into dialogue about „starting the resolution” – for example, through President Trump, who now wants to push for a ceasefire with Putin.
The Daily Mail, therefore, published a leak that aligns much more with the West’s wishful thinking than with a realistic peace plan. Especially since Moscow has repeatedly made it clear that it does not want to see any NATO forces on the territory of „Maidan” Ukraine – including the British army.
Ergo: According to Moscow’s plans, there will be no ceasefire, only unconditional surrender: Ukrainian capitulation.
Thus, it currently seems that Moscow does not want the West’s peace. It will enforce its own conditions – regardless of what the West or Trump says or does. This is how the multipolar world has become.
Here is a drawing published by the Daily Mail about the „Trump peace” which the Russians strongly reject and do not even consider as a basis for negotiations. The situation is still the same today, only the flags of the teams are different:
